The RSPCA Bury, Oldham & District will be re-opening a selected number of its charity stores from 10am on Tuesday 22nd July 2020.
In store physical distancing will remain at 2m across all open stores, quarantining of new donations, signage, limited access levels and personal protective equipment for staff are just some of the new measures being put into place to ensure the highest level of safety and wellbeing for all staff and customers.
“We are pleased to announce that on Tuesday 22nd July 2020 from 10am, Bury, Oldham, Ramsbottom and Royton will be open Monday to Friday from 10am to 3pm for donations and sales and our Springhead store will be open on Wednesday 22nd July and then every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10am to 3pm for donations only”.
Buying and donating helps support the charity’s work – rehabilitating, providing medical care, warmth food and love to abandoned, neglected, and often abused animals until the day they can find their forever homes. Funds generated from items sold in the charity’s network of shops are especially vital right now, as this only source of income has been closed from the end of March and the Branch faces an uncertain future unless income starts to make up for losses during the closures.
Vincent Sherard-Bornshin, Chief Executive Officer at the Bury, Oldham District Branch said:
“With my executive management team, trustees and staff, we have put plans in place to start re-opening retail shops from 22 July on a phased and limited opening to safely welcome loyal customers and donors back into some of our stores, customers can shop with us with confidence we have done everything possible to ensure our stores are as safe as possible”
“Safety and wellbeing have been at the heart of all our decision-making process throughout coronavirus, and this phased approach will allow us to continuously monitor, learn and adapt to keep our staff and customers safe. From managing the number of customers in our shops, adjusting layouts, and encouraging contactless payments, we have extensively planned measures to ensure the safety of our people and customers”
“This positive step forward will help us raise funds to continue our vital work, helping animals in crisis during Covid-19 and beyond, we welcome our loyal staff and customers back”.
The RSPCA ask that donations are not left outside any stores when closed.
